If you plan to put disposable cameras on your wedding tables, or if you just know you have a family full of shutterbugs, this is a REALLY cute way to get some really fun pictures from the wedding that your photographer may miss. Just so you don't miss out on the moments your guests capture, you should check out the photo share cards that J and I made. The link sends your guests to a group room on SnapFish, where they can view and upload pictures, as long as they have a log in. We got some REALLY great pictures from our guests this way, and guests can see each others' photos, too!
Since yesterday was the first day of spring, I thought some flowers would be nice today...
I found this picture and it automatically made me think VINTAGE. When I started my planning, I really wanted to have a vintage feel to my wedding. As we looked around and venues, that hope kind of faded as we figured out that the places that would go with that vintage feel were all too small for our large guest list.
I am 100% in love with this lavender bouquet... it's so pretty, I'm sure is smells amazing, it's so simple and for someone like me, who isn't a huge fan of typical wedding flowers, it would have been perfect.
I love Sundays... even though it means Monday is quickly approaching, I tend to make Sundays all about relaxation, even when there are other things I should be doing. Today was no different. We really got NOTHING done this weekend, but it's March Madness and that's a given.
We went on a run to start the day... it was supposed to be 8 miles, but I felt like crap so it ended up being a really tough 7. I celebrated all those points I earned on my run, with a Happy Meal (and pretty much undid all the good that the run brought) and I haven't really gotten off the couch much since.
When I get bored with basketball, I tend to multitask and surf the internet. Today, I found THE MOST AMAZING FOOD WEBSITE EVER!!!! I am seriously in love with this site and have a feeling that I'll be visiting often.
It's called Skinny Taste and it has a whole bunch of recipes that are modified to be healthy and include Weight Watchers points for every recipe. I'm in love...
I've already pinned a few and you can find them on my Ring The Dinner Bell board on Pinterest. I don't know how anyone on weight watchers have ever lived without this website and I swear, the lady that writes this blog is a GENIUS! You should check it out.
So are meals are planned for the week, and the only other accomplishment of my day was to put together my spring centerpiece for our dining room table. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out, and hopefully you like it to...
I live for this weekend. What could be better than a weekend full of basketball and the belief that anyone can beat anyone on a given day. I played basketball in high school and intramural basketball in college and grad school. I grew up with a father who was a referee and even had a few years of reffing on my resume, so basketball is a big part of my life.
After a terrible 6 mile run this afternoon, I have retired to the couch, where I plan to stay (maybe even over night) through the day Saturday. Outside of another run that I have to get in on Sunday, I'll be on the couch on that day, too.
It's not even the end of the second round (formerly known as the first round, before the play in games came along) and already 2 of my 3 brackets are DONE... WTF Mizzou?
Also, my Longhorns played a dreadful game this afternoon and are already out.
So now, I have one team left to cheer for... who knew, after so many rough years, that the Indiana Hoosiers would be a 4 seed for their return to the NCAA tournament?
I hope you can enjoy some March Madness this weekend... even if you are not a big fan of basketball, it is a great weekend for the underdog.
Moving to Indiana was scary... I'm close to my family, but I had no idea how I would adjust to being back in a college town. I didn't get to enjoy much of summer and then the students came back and I was reminded of my two years of grad school, when it was so hard to stay away from the students (specifically our employees) that we hardly ever went out.
And then it happened... The best week if my new life in Indiana so far... Spring Break.
Don't get me wrong, this city is what it is because of the university. Without it, the culture and progressive thinking probably would not be as strong. But oh how I love when then students leave. To make it even better, it was 80 degrees and sunny here yesterday, which is amazing for March.
So, I spent a couple of hours with some new friends and some great wine, on the patio of a local pub... What a great way to spend part of the day. And more than anything else, it makes me really look forward to summer... Only about 7 weeks away!!
If your fiance is one of those guys who has a close circle of friends, who have all been in each others' weddings, you are probably stumped (as we were) on what to get for the guys who have already gotten the monogrammed flasks, money clips, etc. Even if your guy is the first to get married, I think these are a FANTASTIC way to show the guys how much you love them... and what a great picture they would make!!!
I still watch "Say Yes to the Dress", even though it seems like it's been FOREVER ago that I said yes to my dress. It never fails... there is usually at least one girl that tries on a dress that I think looks more like frosting than fabric... not necessarily a bad thing if that's what you're looking for, but what if you want your frosting to look more like your fashion? I started looking for cakes that had been inspired by wedding dresses, and here are a couple of my favorites
I don't actually know that I've ever said this, but I'm really excited that it's Monday. I'm on call until 5:00 pm on today and then I get to hand everything off, then only two more days of work until J and I head up to Indianapolis for the Big 10 Tournament.
My parents have been going for quite a few years now, and since J and I are so close, we are joining the gang this year. Hopefully this will be something that continues and becomes a tradition for us!
I'm looking forward to a break from work. It's been SUPER busy and it will be nice to get away for a few days. When I get back to work the following Monday, it's spring break, which is even more exciting to me because I'm really looking forward to some quite time in the office when I can get a lot of stuff accomplished.
I have a lot to do in the next few days, but at least I have something really great to look forward to... I'll be packing my cream and crimson and cheering for the Hoosiers!!!
I'm on call this weekend at work, so I have to be available to go in if there's a major injury (anything that causes an ambulance call) or any major incident where the Police would be called.
J and I were out today and right when we sat down to lunch, but on call phone rang and I had to leave him there and go in to work. It usually takes about 45 minutes to an hour to deal with injuries so he sat at McAlister's and waited for me to get back so I could eat my salad.
Speaking of McAlister's, if you are on Weight Watchers and you love McAlister's sweet tea, I'm sorry... it's 6 points a cup. I calculated it today based on the 8 cups of sugar they put in every 5 gallons of tea. I guess this is something I'll have to save my points for every once in a while.
We went shopping for most of the day today and I got some really cute stuff to wear to my conference in Tampa in a few weeks. I'm so excited to go... this conference is where I get to see friends from all over the country, and I'm really excited to see some of my old co-workers from Texas.
Here are a few of the things that I got at The Limited today (can be found on www.thelimited.com)
This shirt This shirt
I also got a few other shirts and the CUTEST lime green pencil skirt that I'm going to wear with the navy jacket. I wish I could have found a picture of it to post... I love it!!
Physical Therapy went well this week... I had my first two water sessions and they were awesome. The first one was a lot of testing and then during the second session, I actually got to run on the underwater treadmill. It was cool, but I felt EXTREMELY uncoordinated.
We went for a 5 mile run on Thursday and my hip didn't hurt at all, but I did have some pain in other parts of my leg, so I'll have to pass that on to my PT on Monday.
Tomorrow I plan to relax and stop in at work before the IU/Purdue game tomorrow night!!
Hope everyone is having a great weekend!!! Go Hoosiers!!
