"Country but not TOO Country" Wedding Recap

A couple weeks ago, J and I went back to Texas for the wedding of one of the girls who used to work for me. She and her fiance were a part of this group who drove from Texas to Indiana just for our wedding (they are the ones on the left)...

When Jess was dress shopping, she sent me a picture of the dress she chose and it made me tear up so of course we were going to be at their wedding on June 2!  I miss this girl so much and I really wish she and Justin were closer to us.

SO, Jess kept describing her wedding as "country, but not too country".  Their wedding was at Willowood Ranch which is a great location, in the middle of nowhere.  I'd actually call her wedding "country chique" because it was VERY country, but also very beautiful.  She did some amazing stuff!!!

I wish I would have taken more pictures of the details, but I was having such a good time being a guest and catching up with some of my former employees that I just forgot.  Jess told me that I could steal from Facebook so I took a few and added them to our pictures...

Beautiful Location for the Ceremony

After further examination, I determined that these are just like the ones we made!

Love their cakes!

Justin did a pretty good job of smashing it in her face  :)

A picture with the bride!

Jess and Justin had an amazing photographer, too.  I did have to borrow one picture from her, as well... the picture of Jessica and Justin when they saw each other for the first time.  What an amazing picture for them to have... Jess held it together WAY better than I did  :)

Wedding Wednesday

A signature drink can make your wedding day, but it can be equally important to make a bridal shower memorable.  I'm still trying to decide between these beautiful drink options.  I haven't tried any of them yet, so that's probably going to be what really help me make the decision.

First contestant: Bubbly Love Potion

Pink lemonade, raspberry sherbet and sprite.

Second Contestant: Lavender Lemonade

This one is SO pretty, but the idea of making/drinking Lavender Lemonade is kind of scary.

First Lake Weekend of the Summer

What a great weekend! We had a relaxing weekend with my parents, aunt and uncle and my cousin and her fiancé.

Our lake house has been in my dad's family for 3 generations and it is the place that ha always felt like "home" to me because I feel like my cousins and I grew up together there.

Now that we live closer I hope I can spend more and more time there during the summer (and spring and fall). This was our first weekend up there this summer and there is nothing better than waking up on a cool Indiana summer morning, grabbing a cup of coffee an heading out the the boat for this view...

Have a great week, everyone!!!

Wedding Wednesday

The next few Wednesdays will be dedicated to my cousin, Hannah, is getting married in October.  She has always been like a little sister to me, and she is also one of my best friends.  I was SOOOO excited and touched when she asked me to be her Matron of Honor and I'm even more excited to be hosting her bridal shower in July.  We found this a while ago and absolutely LOVE it... we are doing a Saturday brunch for her shower and this was the inspiration for the perfect invitation.

Instead of going with this super cute invite from Wedding Paper Divas, I decided I'd make my own.  Don't get me wrong, theirs definitely looks more professional, and I had to fuss with mine quite a bit, but here's what I came up with to go with the specific color theme that my cousin wanted...

Feeling the funk... Not the good kind

I have been in a major funk the last couple of days. We had a great trip to Texas (more info to come soon) and nothing bad has happened so far this week, so I just don't know what it is. We even went and bought a new toy tonight and even that didn't help me out (more to come on that, too). Hopefully it's just that I'm tired from getting home so late on Sunday and I get it out of my system in the next couple of days. We are going to the lake this weekend, for the first time this summer, so hopefully as the weekend gets closer, I'll get more excited and feel better. I hope everyone else is having a great week so far. If you need a pick-me-up, maybe this awesome creation that we found at our favorite winery in Texas will help...

Wedding Wednesday tomorrow!!
